Guilford Garden Center (Lawndale Dr Location)

I'm down in the Greensboro area several times a year visiting and one of my frequent stops is the Guilford Garden Center. I love the selection of plants, the knowledge of the staff, the different planters, spinners, bird seed choices and plant food selections. My car is usually transporting numerous flowers and plants back to my home. If you haven't visited this location, do so you won't be disappointed.

I was disappointed with my experience. The plant selection is decent, but many of the prices seemed significantly higher than other local nurseries offering similar or healthier plants. There are several garden centers in the area where you can find better value, more knowledgeable staff, and a much more welcoming atmosphere. What stood out most was the customer service. During my visit, employees often appeared more engaged in conversations with one another than with customers. I didn’t feel particularly welcomed, and there seemed to be little effort made to connect with shoppers unless you’re a usual regular. One of the things that keeps customers coming back to a local nursery is friendly, attentive service and a staff that is genuinely engaged. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience here. Based on pricing and customer service alone, I would choose other local nurseries in the area and do not plan on returning.

Can you say my new favorite Garden Center 🤩✨! This place was awesome. My husband and I visited this location this past Sunday and I was in awe with all the different and unique selections. Sam was super nice and helpful with looking for one particular plant I came for. She was really knowledgeable about when I needed to come back for what I wanted. I ended up leaving with 2 other plants but I'll be back in April for sure. Overall the whole staff was friendly and the store was clean and neat. Keep up the great work you guys.

One of the best Garden centers in the area. The prices are very reasonable the staff are professional & have great product knowledge. The staff is willing to assist with any of the customer needs.

I'm giving a 2 to reflect one positive experience and one terrible one where the plant quality and customer service nosedived but also for the contant wondering how much most of the plants cost because the price labels have faded (the labels are also illegible at the Milner location). Previously, the plants have been healthy and with a good selection. I don't want to be too harsh but this new location is slipping already. I really want this location to thrive since the small Milner location is a tripping hazard once you get to back where most of the plant are. When we came to the Lawndale location there was one employee outside helping customers then she went inside. It was slow so the whole time we were outside looking at plants we only saw a couple of other customers. No one came to offer help and we were there just over a half hour. When we finally went inside to where the registers are we could see that all of the workers were having a kiki, not helping customers just standing around talking to one another. Had anyone talked to us or acknowledged us we might have let them know a whole section of their shrub selection is fully infested. They were scentless bugs but who wants t
